ODA Press Tour to Alotau, Milne Bay Province

On 26-27 October, 2020, the Embassy of Japan organized an Official Development Assistance(ODA) Press Tour, inviting a total of six writers, reporters and cameramen from the PNG Media to visit Japan’s ODA Project sites in Alotau, Milne Bay Province. The purpose of the ODA Press Tour was to familiarize PNG media with Japan’s commitment in assisting the economic and social sectors. The tour provided an opportunity for the media personnel to get a first-hand experience of how the economic cooperation through Japan’s ODA is being carried out in partnership with the Government and people of Papua New Guinea.

- 1 The Project for Renovation of Alotau Town Market and Fisheries Facilities
- 2 The Project for “Improving the Quality of Mathematics and Science Education” (QUISME) and The Project for Construction of Two Double-classroom Buildings in Alotau Primary School
- 3 The Project to Improve Maritime Security
- 4 Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers Programme and a fish farm where one volunteer transferred a technique
- 5 The Fishing Net Project by Overseas Fishery Cooperation Foundation (a foundation funded by Japanese Fishery Industry)
