ODA Press Tour to West New Britain

On 25-26 June, 2019, the Embassy of Japan organized an Official Development Assistance（ODA) Press Tour, inviting representatives from the PNG Media to visit Japan’s ODA Project sites in Kimbe, West New Britain Province. The purpose of the ODA Media Tour was to familiarize PNG media with Japan’s commitment in assisting the economic and social sectors. The tour provided an opportunity for the media personnel to get a first-hand experience of how the economic cooperation through Japan’s ODA is being carried out in partnership with the Government and people of Papua New Guinea.
The PNG Media were introduced to the following projects:
1 The Project for Reconstruction of Bridges on New Britain Highway
2 Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers Programme
3 The Project for Expansion of Haella Primary School
