Visit to PNG by Mr. Iwao Horii, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan

For three days from October 1st to 3rd 2023, Mr. Iwao Horii, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, visited Papua New Guinea and paid courtesy calls to Prime Minister Marape. He also attended an opening ceremony of the Nadzab Tomodachi International Airport, which was built and rehabilitated with a loan assistance by Japan.
In addition, he visited the Port Moresby Sewage Facility of PNG Water, which was funded by Japan, and exchanged views at separate meetings with JICA volunteers and JICA experts, PNG people who studied in Japan through scholarship by Japanese Government or JICA, and Japanese residents in Port Moresby during his visit. He also visited the JICA representative office in Town to encourage the staff working for JICA. Ambassador Watanabe accompanied together in those schedules.
