Send-Off Reception for the 2025 First-Half MEXT Embassy-Recommended Scholarship Recipients

Through the process of the Embassy-Recommended MEXT Scholarship Program for the first-half of 2025 (Research and Specialized Training), a total of eight scholars from Papua New Guinea (PNG) have been selected. With their departure to Japan just one month away, Ambassador hosted a send-off reception on 3 March.
During the reception, each scholarship recipient delivered a speech about their aspirations for studying in Japan. Ms.Iso Maryrose expressed her joy, stating, “When I applied last year, I was unsuccessful, but I challenged myself again this year, and now my dream of studying in Japan has come true.”
Ambassador Mochizuki addressed the scholars, stating, “You all have a vital role to play as bridges between Japan and PNG. Through this program, I hope you will not only deepen your academic knowledge but also immerse yourselves in Japan’s landscapes, cuisine, culture, and history. May this experience become a lifelong treasure for you.”
