2025 New Year's Greeting Reception

On Thursday, 30 January, Ambassador Mochizuki hosted a New Year's Greeting Reception inviting Japanese residents in PNG.
In his New Year's greeting, Ambassador Mochizuki stated that as this year marks the 50th anniversary of PNG's independence and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and PNG, and the momentum for deepening relations is growing he will continue to work with Japanese residents in PNG to further develop bilateral relations.
Mr. Masaru Mikami, President of the Japanese Association of Port Moresby (President of Ela Motors), expressed his wish that this year marking the 50th anniversary would also be a year of great progress for Japanese residents in PNG.
At the reception, Ambassador Mochizuki presented Mr. Russell Deka Takehiko Harada with a Certificate of Commendation for his various achievements on the development of bilateral relations.
