Ambassador Nakajima witnessed the signing of the contract execution signing ceremony for Nadzab Airport Rehabilitation Project

On 29 November, Ambassador Satoshi Nakajima witnessed the signing of the contract execution signing ceremony for the Nadzab Airport Rehabilitation Project. The Project was agreed in 2015 between the Japanese and PNG governments. In the ceremony, Dai Nippon Construction and Nippo Corporation signed the contract with the representative of National Airports Corporation(NAC). Hon. Lekwa Gure, Minister of Civil Aviation, and Hon. William Samb, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure also witnessed the ceremony.
With this landmark cooperation, the Nadzab Airport will play more significant role as an alternative airport to the Jacksons Airport of Port Moresby, accommodating a growing number of aerial passengers, promoting convenience and safety of air transport, thus enhancing economic prosperity in PNG’s northern region.
