Goodwill visit by JS Kashima and JS Inazuma

The Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) escort ships, JS Kashima and JS Inazuma, made a port call to Rabaul from 26th to 29th September, 2019.
The ships officials and crew participated in various activities such as a welcome ceremony, laying of wreaths at the Japanese Peace Memorial Park, Montevideo-maru Memorial Park and Bita-paka War Cemetery, volunteer work, sport exchange, public viewing of the ships as well as an on-board reception during the port call.
Ambassador Satoshi Nakajima warmly welcomed the visit of JS Kashima and JS Inazuma, saying that the port call by the two ships and the activities of JICA volunteers and other aid projects would further develop the friendship between the people of our two countries.
