Goodwill visit by JS Ise and JS Kunisaki to Port Moresby

JS Ise and JS Kunisaki Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) escort ships visited Port Moresby from 3rd to 5th August 2019.
The Ships officials and crew participated in various events such as a welcome ceremony, laying of wreath at the Ela Beach Remembrance park, sports exchange with PNGDF, exhibition on board for the public and an on-board reception during the visit.
Ambassador Satoshi Nakajima warmly welcome the Ise and Kunisaki’s visit, saying that this is the second time for a JMSDF ship to visit Papua New Guinea following the visit a year ago, and believes the two ships port call to Port Moresby will further strengthen Japan and PNG’s friendship and cooperation.
