‘Taste of Japan’ – Event to promote Japanese food and culture

From 22nd (Wed) to 24th (Fri) May, the Embassy of Japan participated in the ‘Taste of Japan’ event held by Grand Papua Hotel in Port Moresby to promote Japanese food and culture. During the dinner, popular Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Sashimi, Wagyu (Japanese-produced beef) were served as well as collaboration menu agreed by the Japanese chef for Ambassador and a hotel chef. In the venue, Bonsai plants, Origami paper crafts and soft toys of Pikachu were displayed to show Japanese culture, while waiters and waitresses put on Happi coats to add a Japanese flavour to the event. The total of more than 200 guests appreciated Japanese culture including Japanese food during the three days.
