On 21st January, 2019, Mr. Hiroshi Nawata, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in Papua New Guinea (PNG), officiated in a ceremony to open the Leitana Nehan Women’s Development Agency’s Human Resource Development Centre in Buka town, Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
The project was a tripartite collaboration among Japan, the US and New Zealand whereby Japan supported the construction of the Human Resource Development Centre co-funded by Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) New Zealand while the US provided support for the organization’s activities, such as counselling and New Zealand contributed some equipment.
