Ground Breaking Ceremony of the "Project for Rehabilitation of Alotau Town Market and Fisheries Facilities"

On 6 October, Ambassador Nakajima attended the ground breaking ceremony of the "Project for Rehabilitation of Alotau Town Market and Fisheries Facilities" in Alotau, Milne Bay Province.
The Japanese government made available the grant of 33 million Kina(equivalent to .12 billion Japanese yen) for the project. When completed, the fishermen will be able to sell the fish on the day when they catch the fish.
In their speeches, Hon. Deputy Prime Minister Charles Abel, as well as Mr. John Kasu, Managing Director of National Fisheries Authority, highly praised the Japanese government for its assistance.
