On February 23, a signing ceremony was held for the FY2025 Grant Aid Project for Control and Eradication of Poliomyelitis in Papua New Guinea (totaling 663 million yen). Ambassador Mochizuki signed the exchange notes with Dr. Tiko, Acting Head of the WHO Country Office, the recipient of the funds.
Minister for Health, Hon. Kapavore and Health Secretary, Mr. Pascoe were also in attendance, and it was confirmed that the project would be implemented in close coordination among the Government of Japan, the Government of Papua New Guinea, and the WHO.
