On 18 February, a cremation and memorial ceremony was solemnly held at the premises of the PNG National Museum & Art Gallery for the remains of 17 Japanese war dead to be repatriated to Japan.

Ambassador Mochizuki attended the ceremony and offered his condolence to those who lost their lives in Papua New Guinea during the war. The ceremony was conducted as part of the procedures for the repatriation of their remains to Japan.

We once again express our heartfelt prayers for the souls of those who lost their precious lives in the war.
