Announcement of JAPANESE GOVERNMENT (MEXT) TEACHER TRAINING STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2026

The Japanese Government under its scholarship program is offering a Teacher Training Student Scholarship to Papua New Guinean teachers in Primary, Secondary and High Schools wishing to conduct research on school education at designated Universities in Japan.
The requirements are as follows:
1)Applicant must be born on or after 2 April 1991.
2)Applicant must be a graduate of universities or teacher training schools.
3)Applicant must have worked as teachers at primary, high schools, secondary schools or teacher training schools (excluding university) in their home country for a total period of 5 years or more as of October 1, 2026.
4)Applicant must be willing to learn Japanese Language.
5)Applicant must return and continue to work after the End of the Scholarship Period.
6)Scholarship period is between October 2026 and March 2028.
7)Relevant documents can be obtained only from the following URLs:

8)Application forms completely filled in together with the required documents must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Embassy of Japan no later than 5 February 2026.
