Observation of a school building with project members
On 21 October 2025, Mr. Shinichi Tamamitsu, Deputy Chief of Mission, attended the handover ceremony for The Project for the Construction of a School Building at Hoskins Primary School in West New Britain Province (approximately 300,000 kina) conducted by Japan’s Grassroots Grant Assistance Scheme.
On this occasion, Mr. Tamamitsu said in his speech, “I would like to thank all the people involved in the project for their hard work which has materialized today’s handover. Education is not only an absolute necessity for the betterment of every child, but also an essential investment for growth and advancement.”
Hon. Muthuvel, Governor of West New Britain Province said, “Japan is a trusted development partner that has consistently supported Papua New Guinea in a wide range of fields, including health, education, economic growth, and infrastructure development. Let us maintain strong resolution and adopt the right attitude to ensure that this building is well maintained for many years to come.”
