Ambassador Watanabe making his formal speech at the innovation hub’s opening ceremony
From 17 April to 18 April 2024, Ambassador Watanabe paid a visit to the Autonomous Region of Bougainville to attend the official opening ceremony of an innovation hub in Buka, north Bougainville. The innovation hub, which was funded by the Japanese government in collaboration with the UNDP, will provide women and youth with learning spaces on entrepreneurial skills that is expected to contribute to improving their livelihoods. Ambassador Watanabe also paid a courtesy call on the President of the Autonomous Bougainville Government Hon. Ishamael Toroama during his stay in Buka.
