Handover Ceremony of The Project for Installation of Water Supply System for St. Michael’s Catholic Primary School in Western Highlands Province

On 8th February 2024, Ambassador Watanabe attended the handover ceremony for the Project for Installation of Water Supply System for St. Michal’s Catholic Primary School in Western Highlands Province. The Japanese government provided the school with the water and sanitary facility with the amount of approximately 235,000 kina.
Ambassador stated, “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to stakeholders involved for their supports and efforts put in for the successful completion of this project. Through this project, the Government of Japan is pleased to support the PNG’s efforts to improve the daily lives of students and teachers who will now have access to clean, safe and healthy water supply and the usage of toilets. I sincerely hope that these projects will contribute towards strengthening the friendship between the people of PNG and Japan, and will also contribute towards fostering a partnership between two counties.”
In response, the guest of honor, Mr. Martin Marr, Provincial Education Board Executive Manager said, “I am pleased with the completion of this project. There is much things for our country to learn from Japan’s resilient history of development since the post-war reconstruction. I express gratitude for the support Japan has provided us, and also look forward further cooperation and support in the future.”
