Amb. Watanabe attended a ground breaking ceremony of Oro Fisheries Centre rehabilitation project

On 24 January 2023, Ambassador Watanabe Nobuyuki visited Oro Fisheries Centre located in Oro Bay in Oro Province (Northern Province), and attended a ground breaking ceremony of the Centre’s rehabilitation project, cooperatively done by National Fisheries Authority (NFA) of PNG and the Overseas Fisheries Cooperation Foundation (OFCF) of Japan. OFCF will equip the Centre with refrigerators, ice machines and so on, and then start a technical cooperation project, under which the experts of OFCF will provide fish processing techniques at the Centre. It is expected that the techniques and experiences cultivated in Japan will be utilized in Oro Province.
