Deputy chief of mission Maruo attends a farewell ceremony for the PNGDF Military Band

On 2 November, Mr. Shinichi Maruo, Counsellor, Deputy Chief of Mission attended a ceremony at the Murray Barrack to farewell the PNG Military Band to visit Japan.
The Military band is invited to make performance at the upcoming Japan Self-Defense Forces Marching Festival this month.
Major General Mark Goina, Chief of the PNG Defence Force, training squad of the Japanese Self-Defence Forces, representatives of the JICA office and Japan PNG Association Port Moresby Branch also attended the ceremony.
In his speech, Mr. Maruo pointed out that there is growing attention to the Pacific region and given the importance of PNG in geopolitical perspective Japan will continue reinforcing the cordial bilateral relationship with PNG, including defence cooperation.
