Ambassador Watanabe visits the Aum and Kapiura bridges constructed by JICA General Grant Aid

On August 18, 2022, Ambassador Watanabe inspected the Aum and Kapiura bridges in the suburbs of Kimbe in West New Britain Province, which were constructed with JICA's general grant aid. Ambassador Watanabe confirmed that the bridges, which were completed three years ago, are still well maintained. Ambassador Watanabe was met by a local member of parliament and a representative of the Public Works Office who expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the construction of the two bridges, which have contributed to the increase in the transportation of people, goods, and services in the region and to the revitalization of economic activities such as forestry and palm oil industries.
