The Handover Ceremony for the Project for the expansion of the Warabung Primary School

              On 3 May 2022, MR. Shinichi Maruo, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Japanese Embassy, visited Yangoru-Sausina District and attended the handover ceremony for the Project for the expansion of the Warabung Primary School. The Japanese government provided the school with the two story building with 2 classrooms, a library, a storeroom, and 2 teachers waiting rooms with the amount of approximately 200,000 kina.
 
              At the ceremony, Mr. Maruo said, “education is not just for acquiring knowledge. It is the investment for the future. It would be a pleasure for the Japanese government to support the PNG’s efforts to improve education. I would like to see the students who study at this school contributing to the development of the relationship between Japan and PNG.”
 
              In response, Hon, Richard Maru, former Minister of the National Planning and Monitoring and an MP from the Yangoru-Saussina District, said that the education is the basis for the development of Warabung, and the people of Warabung honour the support provided by the government and people of Japan. He also said that with this project as a good example, he will contribute to improving the education sector in PNG.
