On April 5, 2022, Ambassador Nobuyuki Watanabe paid a courtesy visit to the PNG University of Technology in Lae. The Ambassador was gracefully welcomed by the University’s Vice Chancellor, its staff and a group of students from Goroka performing the Asaro-Mudmen.
During the discussion with Ambassador Watanabe, the University acknowledged Japan's continuous support to PNG as well as its past assistance to the University. Last year a Japanese organization donated an ambulance and a fire truck to support the academic institute.
Through this introductory trip, Ambassador Watanabe renewed his hope to build further partnership with the University in the near future.
