Ambassador payed a courtesy call on Hon. Ginson Saonu, Governor of Morobe Province

Lae, Morobe Province, is well known in the country for being the second largest city as well as the industrial center of PNG. On 6 April, 2022, Ambassador Watanabe paid a courtesy call on Hon. Ginson Saonu, Governor of Morobe Province, as part of his first official trip to Lae.

The both sides discussed focus areas of development and economic activities in the province and in PNG, and highlighted the current status of the projects funded by Japanese government in Morobe province, which include the Nadzab redevelopment project. Also, the both sides shared the views on the importance of human resource development through education.

Ambassador Watanabe welcomed further opportunities in the future to further enhance and continue relations with the province.
