Handover Ceremony of school buildings at Kil Primary School in Madang

On 23rd March, 2022, Ambassador Watanabe officiated in a ceremony to hand over a school building (4 classrooms and two teachers' rooms), a library and two water tanks to Kil Primary School in Madang.
Ambassador stated, “Education is not only a vital tool to acquire knowledge and skills but is also an investment for the future development. Through this project, the Government of Japan is pleased to support the PNG’s efforts to improve the education sector. I also hope that those who study in this school building will have interest in Japan and become supporters for the development of Japan-PNG relations in the future”.
This event was carried out as a part of "the press tour" under which journalists from a total of four newspaper and TV station companies joined the several ceremonies and site visits attended by Ambassador Watanabe. Using the opportunity, the journalists interviewed school teachers, students and people of Madang who attended the ceremony.
