Japan entered into an Agreement with the PNG Government on ”PNG Electrification Partnership” in 2018, with Australia, New Zealand and the United States, and has supported the efforts by the PNG Government on electrification.
In order to deepen the knowledge about electrification in PNG, Ambassador Nobuyuki Watanabe visited a gas generation plant of Dirio Gas and Power Company in the suburb of Port Moresby on 30 November 2021. He learned about the facilities of the newest gas power plant in PNG, and exchanged views with Mr. Mano, Managing Director, and Mr. Tuaim, Executive Manager of the company.
