Ambassador Nakajima’s Bougainville visit

Ambassador Satoshi Nakajima visited Bougainville from 26 – 29 March, 2018 for the first time.  During the visit, Ambassador Nakajima met with President John Momis, Autonomous Bougainville Government Ministers, and National Members of Parliament from Bougainville and discussed the situation in Bougainville including the upcoming Bougainville referendum.  Ambassador Nakajima toured the Island while observing 15 bridges along the Bougainville Coastal Trunk Road which were constructed under Japan’s Official Development Assistance and interacting with many local people for strengthening the relationship.
