On 9 March 2020, Ambassador Nakahara announced the launching of Japanese Language Proficiency Test for 2020. It is the first Japanese Language Proficiency Test in Papua New Guinea, and Papua New Guinea is the first country to introduce the Test among Melanesian countries. It is expected the Japanese Language Proficiency Test will contribute to the promotion of Japanese language education in Papua New Guinea.
