Ambassador Watanabe's Courtesy Call on Rt. Hon. James Marape, Prime Minister of PNG



On 14 March, Ambassador Watanabe paid a courtesy call on Rt. Hon. James Marape, Prime Minister of PNG. Hon. Rainbo Paita, Minister for National Planning and Monitoring, Mr. Koney Samuel, Secretary, Department of National Planning and Monitoring, and Mr. Frank Aisi, Deputy Secretary, Department of Prime Minister and National Executive Council attended it.
Ambassador Watanabe stated that PNG is rich in resources such as minerals, forestry, fishery and human resources. Also, he stated that Japan and PNG have establishied an exellent relationship until now, so he expressed his wish to strengthen the relationship further more. In response, Prime Minister Marape stated that he wished to develop widely the relationship of the two countries. Also, he expressed his gratitude for Japan's long-standing support. Then, they exchanged their views on the ways to foster a further enhanced relationship between Japan and PNG.
