Orientation for the participants of JENESYS 2.0
Orientation for the participants of JENESYS 2.0※ was held at the residence of Ambassador of Japan on 10th October. 41 students and three supervisors from University of Papua New Guinea, who were scheduled to visit Japan from 12 to 26 October 2013 attended the function.
The JENESYS 2.0 programme includes a tour in Tokyo and then, in Yamanashi and Nagano Prefectures to visit local companies and see how they cope with environment issues. They also have the opportunity to interact with Japanese students and stay with Japanese families.
Through this project, PNG participants are expected to have the first-hand experience of Japanese technology and traditional culture and deepen their knowledge about the value of Japan.

※JENESYS(Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths) 2.0 is a new youth exchange programme which Prime Minister Abe announced during his visit to Indonesia last January. Approximately 30,000 youths from Asia/Oceania region will have an opportunity to visit Japan this year.
The aim of JENESYS 2.0 is to revitalize the Japanese economy through introduction of Japan's attractions to foreign tourists and consumers by promoting international understanding on the nation's potential strength, allure and values, including the "Cool Japan" concept.
